Your Salt System Alternative

A better experience for your family, lighter on your to-do list, easier on your wallet

Stop fighting your pool. Keep it crystal clear with significantly reduced chlorine, fewer chemicals, and a fraction of the maintenance time and cost.
Low-Chlo is the Future

Pool Sanitation Has Evolved. Have You?

You’ve seen the damage harsh chemicals and salt corrosion cause. We took the lessons from the past 50 years to engineer the first system that solves the pain without the maintenance headaches.

The Old Way: Chlorine

Harsh & High Maintenance

For decades, we accepted that swimming meant smelling like bleach. High chemical loads attack organic matter—including your hair and skin—while requiring daily attention to maintain balance.

The Transition: Salt Systems

Expensive Repairs & Corrosion

Salt promised a better experience but brought new headaches. It attacks your pool deck and equipment with corrosion. Plus, you're still swimming in generated chlorine, and the system requires expensive board repairs.

The Future: Low-Chlo

A Healthier Swim & Minimal Maintenance

The definitive alternative to salt. Enjoy crystal clear water without the harsh chemicals or the mechanical failures. Saves you time and money with a system that has no moving parts and requires zero electricity.

If You Have a Salt System, You Know These Problems.

If you don’t (and you're considering salt), READ THIS first.

Constant pH Spikes
Salt cells naturally produce elevated pH levels as a byproduct of the electrolysis process. This often means handling muriatic acid regularly just to keep the water balanced — effectively trading one chemical chore for another.
Stubborn Calcium Scale
Salt cells are prone to calcium buildup, clogging the generator plates with white crust. Without regular acid washes, the system can stop producing chlorine entirely.
Rapid Equipment Corrosion
Salt water is conductive by nature and can accelerate wear on heaters, metal handrails, and porous stone coping through galvanic corrosion — turning a "low-maintenance" pool into a costly renovation project.
The Recurring Replacement Cost
Salt cells have a limited lifespan and typically need replacing every 3–5 years. When they fail, replacement cells commonly run $500 to $900 — an ongoing cost many buyers don't anticipate.

The "Chlorine Hangover" Ends Here.

High chlorine levels and salt systems can be harsh on your skin, eyes, and pool equipment. Low-Chlo significantly reduces chemical load — so swimming feels the way it should.

Red Eyes & Dry Skin
Nothing ruins a pool day faster than kids complaining about stinging eyes or dry, itchy skin. Traditional high-chlorine systems can be harsh on hair and skin, stripping natural oils after repeated exposure.
The Strong Chemical Odor
Your backyard oasis shouldn't smell like a public pool. That strong "chlorine smell" is a sign of high chemical load in the water. Low-Chlo significantly reduces chlorine levels, so the odor goes with it.
Faded Suits & Worn Liners
High chlorine levels don't just kill bacteria — they can also degrade swimwear and accelerate liner fading. Reducing chlorine exposure helps protect your investments and extends their lifespan.
Sensitive Skin & Pet Comfort
For swimmers with sensitive skin, high-chlorine water can be a significant irritant. And if your dog loves the pool, lower chemical levels mean a more comfortable swim for every member of the family.

Love Your Pool, Hate the Maintenance?

Are you tired of spending a ton of time and money, week after week, trying to keep your pool clean rather than swimming in it?

Salt System Hidden Costs
Salt was supposed to be the answer, but nobody mentioned the corrosion to your expensive stone coping, the rusted heaters, or the control boards that fry every few years. It’s a cycle of expensive repairs that never ends.
The Endless Drudgery
Sick of hauling heavy buckets of tablets, constantly testing pH, and fighting cloudy water? You spend more time working on your pool than actually relaxing in it. Low-Chlo simplifies your routine so the pool works for you, not the other way around.
Harsh Chemical Storage
Your garage shouldn't double as a chemical storage unit. Storing gallons of liquid chlorine and acid creates strong fumes that can affect tools and equipment stored nearby. Low-Chlo dramatically reduces how much you need to store.
The "Weekend Warrior" Trap
You bought a pool to host BBQs, not to skip the party because you're fighting green water. Stop spending your precious Saturday mornings skimming, scrubbing, and shocking while your family and friends are having all the fun.

How it Works

Commercial Grade for Residential Pools.
1

Dirty Water Enters

Once your water passes through your existing filter, it flows directly into the Low-Chlo tank. Our system integrates seamlessly with your current plumbing using a smart bypass flow — ensuring the right water pressure pushes through the system without slowing your pump or straining your equipment.

2

The Treatment Zone

Inside the tank, water moves through our proprietary blend of natural mineral media. These minerals work to neutralize algae and bacteria on contact, while naturally helping to prevent scale buildup on your pool walls — doing the heavy lifting that large volumes of harsh chemicals used to do.

3

Clean & Comfortable

Water returns to your pool soft and conditioned. A single chlorine tablet in your skimmer handles oxidation of dead bacteria. Since the minerals have already done the heavy lifting, you avoid the harsh chemical odors and skin irritation typical of traditional pools. The result is a swim experience that feels fresh, soft, and gentle.

How does this pool get sanitized?

The way it sanitizes the pool is simple. The technical term is oxidation reduction. This happens as the water passes through the vortex bottom plate then swirls through the dissimilar metals causing an electrolitic effect where electrons are donated to the molecules in the water causing then to break down. Other metals in the blend are also releasing ions which destroys the cellular body of organisms. Then we use the chlorine tablet to oxidize these dead particles back to a solid to filter them out.

"I had a salt system in the past. Now that I have the Low-Chlo, the difference in the chlorine has been really amazing. It's so much better as far as enjoying the pool, the quality of the water, it's always perfectly clear and we never get the red eyes. No one complains about skin irritation from high chlorine and the system's doing great. It's been installed for six years now, no repair issues. The pool maintenance has been about as simple as it gets compared to any other system. Would definitely buy this system again if I had to move and needed a pool sanitizer. The company's been great to work with, super helpful. They've been there for just about everything I could need as far as answering questions and couldn't recommend them enough."

"After the hurricane, our pool system needed to be updated. Our neighbor was familiar with Low-Chlo and installed the system for us. We've enjoyed it. The water's clear, feels good after you get out. The dogs love to swim in it — with the low chlorine levels they're much more comfortable. We feel better. The water's been great and refreshing, and we definitely recommend it to others."

"I'm a former pool guy of 15 years. Had a route of about 30 customers and I had my own personal pool put in here. Plenty of oak trees, plenty of pollen and every single spring for three, four months, I was shocking my pool every week. I knew what I was doing. I had help and I couldn't keep the algae out of my pool till I got this Low-Chlo system. And I tell you what, I've shocked my pool once a year for the last 2+ years that I've had this. And that's only when I've had a heavy bathing load. I don't know how it works, but all I know is that it works. And I tell all my friends, don't get a salt system, get this system. It requires so little maintenance. It is the way to go and I swear by it."

“It's like swimming in the creek, really. I mean, it's like swimming in well water. You can open your eyes, you don't get burned, you don't have that chlorine smell. I grew up swimming in the creek, so it's a natural transition for me.”

“Since I've been using the Low-Chlo, I have honestly not touched this pool in over two and a half weeks. I was out of the country. I usually only put two tabs in every 10 days. I use the Dolphin Cleaner and that's it. I don't do anything else. I love it. It's low maintenance. There's no mechanics to it. The salt system was always having a problem. I was always buying liquid chlorine to keep up, but now, I haven't had any problems.”

“Ever since you guys got that Low-Chlo system, service has been a breeze - minimal chemicals. Obviously it's gonna benefit the customer, the company as well. It's a night and day difference, minimal work, and it pretty much handles itself.”

"Well, it requires very little maintenance. Once you get your water balance set, you barely have to touch it. It works perfectly. I like it when it's crystal blue and I can see the bottom of the pool — knowing that it's clean and clear. I've seen other people's pools and half the time I wouldn't even want to get in them because I can't see the bottom very clearly. Anybody that's got a pool, it's kind of a no-brainer as far as taking care of it. And I'm the one that takes care of it. So if I can make it as easy as possible, that's what you want to do."

"I love the low amounts of chlorine and the comfort — because you're basically swimming in water that feels like a bath. It's not too hard, not too soft. It doesn't burn your eyes. It doesn't discolor your clothes. It doesn't dry your skin out. We have lots of kids that swim and I've never had a problem maintaining my pool's clarity."

“Low maintenance of it from a pool aspect of maintaining a pool. The water comes out crystal clear. Never had a problem with checking the levels of the pool. Everything comes out perfect. Kids love it, doesn't burn their eyes. My wife loves it and the girls love it. Doesn't change her hair color. It's been for 20 years, it has been like one of the best things that we've had is on the pool that's been so easy to take care of. Over 20 years, based on everything else I would have to have for a pool without the filter, thousands, thousands of dollars for sure.”

“I wanted a solution that would keep me from breaking my back clean and scrubbing a pool. So that was the seller. Less maintenance. It saves my back. It saves our skin. I don't get out of the pool dry. I can just get dressed if I need to without having to wash all that chlorine off. And it doesn't burn. My eyes don't burn. It doesn't smell. I'm happy because I've got 11 grandkids and they can get in and I don't worry about them. We went from spending about $1,000 a season on filters and the big pucks of chlorine. They're like $200 a piece. And we'd go through two of those plus shock, which is extremely expensive. Now we put a puck in once a week. That's about it. So it may be I spend $50 a season compared to the thousand. It's incredible.”

"It's crazy that everybody didn't know about this. I've had it 23 years. I thought everybody had one. I don't have to mess with it. I don't have to do anything else to my pool except put the chlorine tabs in. No other chemicals, no maintenance, no worrying. I've never worried about that tank. The water in my pool is crystal clear — it's like spring water to me."

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions & Answers

Switching from salt or chlorine is a big decision. Here is everything you need to know about installation, maintenance, and the science behind Low-Chlo.

Low-Chlo is a patented pool sanitization system that uses a proprietary blend of metallic media inside a tank plumbed after your existing filter. As water circulates through the tank, the mineral media works to neutralize algae and bacteria, helping maintain clear, balanced water with significantly reduced chlorine levels — typically less than 1 part per million. The system requires no electricity, no salt cell, and no added electronics, making it compatible with your existing pool setup.

Salt systems generate chlorine through electrolysis, relying on a salt cell and control electronics that can scale up, fail, or require periodic replacement. The salt itself can contribute to accelerated wear on metal fixtures, stonework, and surrounding hardscapes over time. Low-Chlo uses no salt cell, no electrolysis, and no added salt — helping reduce those ongoing repair costs while still delivering low-chlorine, comfortable water.

UV and ozone systems treat water only while it physically passes through the unit — they cannot maintain a sanitizer residual in the pool when the pump is off. Because of this limitation, most manufacturers pair them with a salt system to maintain the necessary chlorine levels between cycles. That means you're paying for additional UV or ozone hardware while still managing all the ongoing costs of a salt system. Low-Chlo is designed to provide continuous mineral-based conditioning through your existing pump cycle, without requiring a separate salt system alongside it.

Because the system helps maintain less than 1 ppm of chlorine in the swimming area, the water typically feels softer and has significantly less chemical odor than a traditional chlorine pool. Many owners report less eye, skin, and hair irritation and a noticeably fresher swimming experience compared to high-chlorine or salt systems.

Low-Chlo is designed to allow for very low chlorine levels in the pool, which many swimmers find more comfortable than traditional high-chlorine systems. With a significantly reduced chemical load and no salt added to the water, many families report a gentler experience on skin, eyes, and hair compared to conventional chlorine or salt pools.

Most residential pools run on less than 1 ppm of chlorine in the pool when Low-Chlo is installed and operating correctly. The owner's manual recommends placing one or two 3-inch chlorine tablets in the skimmer or an inline chlorinator — depending on pool size and water temperature — to oxidize dead bacteria so they can be captured by the filter.

On a typical residential pool, once the system is installed and adjusted, your regular routine involves keeping 1–2 chlorine tablets in the skimmer or chlorinator, running the pump 8–12 hours per day, and brushing or vacuuming the pool weekly while cleaning or backwashing the filter as needed. Compared to a salt system, you avoid the ongoing salt-cell management, regular acid handling, and electronic maintenance that salt systems require.

Yes. Low-Chlo is designed to be installed after your existing filter and before a heater if one is present. It is compatible with all common pool filter types — sand, DE, and cartridge. When installed before the heater, the system can also help reduce scaling inside the heater by lowering chlorine levels and mineral buildup before the water reaches it.

Yes. The owner's manual includes a step-by-step process for converting a salt-chlorinated pool to a Low-Chlo freshwater setup. The process involves installing the Low-Chlo system, gradually diluting the pool water to bring salinity below 2,000 ppm — typically by partially draining and refilling — then opening the Low-Chlo bypass and running the system normally. It is not necessary to fully drain the pool, and doing so is not recommended as it can cause structural issues.

The system can be installed by a confident DIYer following the included owner's manual, but professional installation by a qualified pool technician is recommended to ensure correct plumbing and bypass setup. A PVC bypass manifold must be installed on the return line after the filter, with flow direction oriented correctly per the manual. Incorrect installation can affect system performance, so reviewing the full installation guide before starting is strongly advised.

Low-Chlo provides a 10-year comprehensive warranty on the system, covering the media tank, tank head, and bypass assembly. To receive full coverage, systems must be registered with the installation date and an installation photo uploaded to the warranty database. Registration can be completed at Warranty page.
